OW (Open Water)

You will be able to dive up to 18m deep with a buddy. We’ll practice thoroughly at your own pace, starting in shallow water where you can stand.

📚 Choosing your study material
Study in advance on your phone or PC. Local classroom sessions are exempted, giving you more time to spend in the ocean.
The materials fee is cheaper, but it requires several hours of classroom lectures at the shop. As a result, it may take more days to complete.
Please plan with a flexible schedule.
If uncompleted, a referral to another shop is possible, but you may need to pay the difference in fees.
e-Learning recommended (exempts local classroom).
Practice basic skills in shallow water where you can stand.
Practical training in the real ocean! Swim alongside the fish.
A temporary card is issued on the spot (the official card arrives in about 2 weeks).
With a donation (500+ JPY) to marine conservation organizations, you can change your C-Card to an AWARE design 🦈
AOW (Advanced)
～Enjoy Miyakojima’s famous caves with AOW～
Learn 5 types of skills including deep diving and navigation. You will be able to dive up to 30m and dramatically expand your diving range.

Master 5 Important Skills
Learn skills through a total of 5 dives (5 types) from various fields.

Rescue & CPR/First Aid (RED/EFR)

Learn CPR, AED usage, and first aid on ‘land’.

🚫 Cancellation Policy
PADI Certification & Step-Up Course Policy
- [After booking ~ 3 days prior] 10,000 JPY cancellation fee
- [2 days prior] 50% of the course fee
- [2 days prior ~ Day before 12:00 PM] 80% of the course fee
- [After 12:00 PM the day before ~ Day of] 100% of the course fee
*No fees will be charged in case of severe weather due to approaching typhoons or flight cancellations.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is an Open Water Diver?
A ‘Certified Diver’ who has acquired the minimum knowledge and skills required for scuba diving. Upon completing this course, you can safely enjoy diving up to 18m deep with a buddy.
What is a C-Card?
It stands for Certification Card. It proves that you have “acquired the necessary knowledge and skills over a specific period” and must be presented when receiving diving services anywhere in the world.
Is it a national certification?
No, it is not a national license like for cars or boats.
It is a certification proving you learned the ‘rules for safe diving’ set by private training organizations like PADI.
However, it functions as a mandatory passport for recreational diving.
Can I participate alone?
Yes, absolutely! Many people join the course by themselves. You will often make diving buddies during the training.
Is there an age limit?
You can get certified from age 10 (as a Junior Open Water Diver). Minors require parental consent.
